These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of rentshielduae.com (the "Service") operated by CJ TECHGROUP FZC LLC, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates (Trade License No. 2628812530888) ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

RentShield provides informational tools for UAE tenants, including:

  • RERA Rent Increase Calculator based on Decree No. 43 of 2013
  • AI-powered rights assistant for UAE tenancy law questions
  • Tenancy contract analysis for red flags and missing protections
  • Legal notice generation for common tenant disputes
  • RDC (Rental Disputes Centre) filing guidance

2. Important Legal Disclaimer

RentShield is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our tools provide general information about UAE tenancy laws. This information is for educational purposes only and should not be construed as legal advice. For complex legal matters, always consult a qualified UAE lawyer.

  • Our RERA calculator is based on publicly available rental index data and may not reflect the most current figures.
  • AI-generated responses may contain inaccuracies. Always verify information with official sources.
  • Legal notices generated by our Service are informational templates. Their legal effectiveness depends on your specific circumstances.
  • Contract analysis is automated and may miss context-specific nuances that a lawyer would catch.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • One account per person. Sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Free & Paid Services

4.1 Free Tier

  • RERA rent calculator: Unlimited use, no sign-up required.
  • AI rights chat: Limited messages per day (3 per session for guests, 10 per day for registered users).
  • Contract scan preview: Risk score only (full analysis requires payment).

4.2 One-Time Purchases

  • Legal Notice Generation: AED 99 per notice.
  • Full Contract Analysis: AED 149 per scan.
  • RDC Filing Guide: AED 199.
  • All one-time purchases are non-refundable once the digital product has been generated/delivered.

4.3 Shield Plan Subscription

  • AED 399/year or AED 49/month.
  • Includes unlimited AI chat, 4 contract scans/year, 4 legal notices/year, and additional features.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel at any time through your dashboard. Access continues until the end of the billing period.

5. Payments & Refunds

  • All payments are processed securely by Stripe in AED (UAE Dirhams).
  • Prices are inclusive of applicable fees.
  • Refund Policy: One-time purchases are non-refundable once the digital product (notice PDF, analysis report) has been generated. If a technical error prevents delivery, contact us for a full refund.
  • Subscription Refunds: Pro-rata refunds are available within the first 7 days of a new subscription. After 7 days, no refunds are issued but you may cancel to prevent future charges.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Upload documents that you do not have the right to share.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access restrictions.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Service.
  • Use the AI assistant to generate content unrelated to UAE tenancy law.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Interfere with the Service's operation or security.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, its design, code, and content are owned by CJ TECHGROUP FZC LLC.
  • Legal notices and analysis reports generated for you are yours to use.
  • You retain ownership of documents you upload.
  • UAE law texts referenced by our tools are public domain.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on AI-generated information.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for the outcome of any legal dispute or proceedings.

9. Uploaded Documents

  • You represent that you have the right to upload any document you submit.
  • Uploaded contracts are stored securely and used only for analysis purposes.
  • You can delete your uploaded documents at any time from your dashboard.
  • We do not share your documents with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
